boa with broken ribs..

bergmantis Sep 16, 2008 05:51 PM

I bought a male boa when he was jsut a yearling and at the time, he had what felt like a broken rib near his lower third of the body. As he is older now and his body grew, the hard bump feels more apparant. When I hold his and he twists that part of his body, I can hear a soft clicking. Has anyone ever dealt with a broken rib(s) before? Is there anyway to treat it? It has never affected him in any way so far.

We had a boa that broke some ribs when his mate tried to eat him. Don't know if she broke his ribs, or if we did trying to free him.. Found broken ribs when we took him to the emergency vet right after. The vet told us to let them heal on their own. You could always feel the little kinks in him, but he never suffered for it.
