checking in and showing off my bairdi

FroggieB Sep 05, 2003 11:48 PM

I have been so busy that I haven’t been on this forum for a long time but felt that it was time to post the 4-yr-old picture of my Elaphe Bairdi from Adam Block stock. The female was in shed when I took this pic of the male so I don’t have a current pic of her. For the most part she looks about the same as the male only her color is more of a gunmetal or pewter gray instead of his nice silver.

The Male:

I bred these this year and I have now hatched 3 from a clutch of 6 fertile/ 6 blanks. 3 were dead in shell. This is a first for me having only bred and hatched MHDs and leos in the past.

Hatchling #1:
Pip

Out for a stroll:

Hatchling #2:
Pip (peaking at you):

Just out of the shell:

Amaizingly enough these two took pinkies that luckily were born the morning the 1st bairdi hatched. The third one, not pictured, hasn’t shown an interest yet.

Just had to share and show off the new kids!

Beautiful animal thanks for posting it. I have a female from adams line and a male from Vivid. They produced 8 eggs this yr that should hatch any day. I love bairdi.

Thanks
