Hurracane / Mud stuck in fence

emysbreeder Sep 17, 2008 09:25 PM

After repairing the damage to my tortoise enclosures I walked the big chain link fence around my land.I found a wild mud turtle stuck in the fence about three feet up where the water was rushing through at the high point. He was stuck in a link of the fence for two weeks! It was alive but very weak.It was far away from where we were working and out of sight from the trees.I wish I'd taken the walk earlier. It was a strange sight but muds must be tuff to survive that long.I,m back to almost normal, the grass is coming in and new babies are hatching out!I hope all the people that got the blunt of the storm are ok.I dont know what I would do with standing water for weeks like I've seen on TV.Maybe we will hear some reports later after they take care of their family's and houses.Vic

Lucky little dude! I hope hes ok thoes mud turtles are super tough. When i first got into breeding turtles thoes were the first ones i had sucess with and they had to be super hardy with what i was doing back then. But you gotta start someware.lol Glad to hear everything is returning to normal.
