Varanus Rudicollis - Black Roughneck

I have a BRM, and he has been doing very good. But of course I am paranoid as heck, that I am missing something, so maybe I am. Anyone experienced in their care? I have had him for over 6 months now, and I think I'm doing a fairly good job, but I just wanted some pointers as far as housing is concerned. I am in the process of designing a tank that will be custom built, and I wanted any ideas someone might have. For example, I was going to add a pond to it, about 2 1/2' x 2' instead of a soaking tub, I'm looking to make a 7'L x 4'W x 3'D tank. Does this sound ok? Any advice is greatly appreciated!! THANKS in advance!

I would go as high as possible.
Mine is 4wX6dX8h.
Mine prefers the hides above head level.
I would also reccomend deep leaf litter for substrate.
I also fill his high up hide boxes with damp litter.
Mine seems to prefer the long tubs over the round ponds.
Guess he just likes to stretch out, who knows.
Keep his humidity high and feed it alot.

I would think maybe something more like 8'x4'x8'? Similar to, or the same as, an adult jobiensis enclosure. Especially if he maybe wants to try his hand at breeding since rudicollis are supposedly going to be off the market in a few months as far as imports go.
