Two sibling Type I "Mosaic" Kings I got from Kevin Enge this spring. Male on the left, female on the right.
Can't wait until they're ready to breed!

They look fine. Ya know, I have the whole story on those (type 1 and type 2) but I can never remember what makes one a type 1 and what makes a type 2. I have to go back and read the story again each time I wonder about it. lol I guess it might help if I owned some.
There's a book coming out soon you should probably pick up - I hear it has a huge section dedicated to Cal King morphs.

There is a type 1 and a Type 2. lol That new book funky was talkin' about explains them.
Your book? lol.

Those are neat-a$$ looking!
Do you have any closer shots of them???
//Todd
Thanks, they are some very attractive snakes! I'll get some better shots up today.
I'm not familiar with the book on CalKings you guys mention, but I'd like to read it because CalKings proper have nothing to do with this pattern variation directly. Kevin Enge, Heyward Clamp, and Ricky Waters have been instrumental in collecting and breeding the wc specimens into the remarkable patterns we see now. Kevin has a .pdf that explains the history of them, and that's the only real source of knowledge on them that I'm aware of to date.
I'll explain what Kevin Enge has explained to me when I get a chance to post a little later. The gist of it is, is that they're probably both pattern variations that can occur when you breed them. You can find what's called a Type II in a clutch of
Type I's, and vice versa.

Yeah I don't know what the book about cal kings has to do with these, as these are eastern kings. Here's one of mine that I got from Keith Hillson.

That was just me demonstrating my ignorance - I assumed mosaic Cal King when I read mosaic and didn't take a good look at the photos.
