genetics

reptilz Sep 18, 2008 10:58 PM

I am relatively new to the bp world and not up to date on the genetics. Can anyone recommend a book, website, etc that I can use to catch up? Sort of a genetics geek, and have been trying to pick up on everything from the forums, but still not sure I have it all right. Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.

you say that you are not up to date; do you know some of the basics of Genetic's in general and what are you looking to do with genetics, such as predict breeding out comes or something more in depth?

This will play a role in what type of resources you are after,

I have the basics of genetics in general. I have been breeding corns, rats, leopard geckoes, etc for years. Fully aware of the mechanics of genetics. Haven't had as much experience with codoms, but know how they work. Basically just need to know what genes are out there and whether they are simple recessive, codom, or unproven. Thanks for any help you can give.

Ralph Davis has a Matrix page that is a good place to spend hrs when you are beginning.
His banner is at the top of this page.

If all you are looking for is what genes are out there NERD has a great photo gallery and you can see pics of different morphs and when you click on them it will tell you what makes them and weather or not is a res., co-dom, or dom gene.

Let me know if this is what you are looking for.
