Bring in the hatchlings?

nyrich44 Sep 19, 2008 08:47 AM

I was looking for some information about when a good time is for me to bring in my Eastern hatchlings from the outside pen. They are 1 year old babies that have been living in an outside enclosure all summer but the nights here in NY are starting to get cooler the temp is in the 60's at night. Also any info on how to properly set them up for being inside would also help. I need some help with what type of bedding to use in the tanks that I have for them.

I brought in my Three Toed Hatchling last week. I live in NY. I set up a 75 gal vivarium following the pictures on this site. It really holds in the humidity very well. I put a heat emitter on one side over her hide, and a long tube UVB 10.0 on the other side over a screen top to filter out the light.

lol, yes that hatchling set-up is boxie baby paradise for sure, those are some lucky little hatchlings indeed. looks great, nice and moist and humid, I assume they have a place to dry off and bask too.

Thank you
Yes she has a uvb on one side. It really isn't that wet. I spray it once and a while and water the plants,
