The same?

Is a reverse okeetee and an albino okeetee the same morph? One breeder told me they were not, but I have heard others use the term.

Yes...and no. There's only one albino Okeetee as far as I know. This was produced by Howie Sherman by breeding Okeetee locality corns and one day getting a surprise albino.

Reverse Okeetee's are often called albino Okeetees, but in fact most are not. Reverse Okeetees were derived from selectively bred amel corns with wide white borders.

If someone is selling "albino Okeetees" what they probably mean is "Reverse Okeetee."

still an albino corn snake in the end, either way. Or Amel, lack of black pigment. One is just selective breed to have a nice pattern instead of being a simple recessive only.

Many Reverse Okeetee would not qualify as Okeetee Phase as non amel normal corns with otherwise identical color/pattern. But they are accepted as Reverse Okeetee trade name.

Some breeders have amel corns that would qualify as Okeetee Phase (not locality) if they were normal non amel. So they use the term amel Okeetee to differentiate their line from Reverse.

Example would be the Amel Okeetee's that Joe Pierce produced by outcrossing Abbott bloodline Okeetee's with amel corns (probably ROs but you'd have to ask him) - he then selectively bred and as a line that looks like Abbott in the het form and looks like an amel version of Abbott in the amel form, and look different than what is commonly marketed as Reverse Okeetee.

Hey there Tim. And I will be breeding her back to the father and see if anything is going on or not. She is so gorgeous, almost dayglow. Don Soderberg says it very much looks like a fluorescent corn, which it does, but it is pure Albino Okeetee.

hey buddy. by now you gotta know i am a terrible photographer who believes digital cameras are a form of black magic. i am waiting for kodak instamatics to come back into vogue. I will post the pic taken by a friends of mine, Ralph and Steve a year ago. And the pic so does not do her justice. She would wow you, Doug. And to think I was going to sell her, if not for my friends Tony, Beaver,Dennis and others threatening me with my life if I sold her.

DMong Sep 21, 2008 07:10 PM

LOL!!,...anyone in their right mind can plainly see she is a KNOCK-OUT!.

I also agree with the other's, I think if you DID sell her, you REALLY should be sentenced to Alcatraz for REAL!!!!

That genuine article cannot be beat!
