First cali king

joecop Sep 19, 2008 09:05 PM

Just picked up my first california king snake the other day. Appears to be about six months old. Any suggestions on a feeding schedule would be appreciated. I fed him two pinkie mice when I got him home-- which he quickly downed. It has been four days and he has no visible lumps left and just deficated. I tried to feed him another pinkie but he has no interest. Probably normal but have never owned a cali before.

I would feed one mouse (more if the snake will eat it) about the size of the largest part of the snake per week.
