Flo's Premie Litter

Jeff Clark Sep 20, 2008 11:36 PM

Flo was just starting to lay this litter when I checked on her at 3 saturday morning. After I removed the premie in the PICs she laid two more premies and a bunch of slugs. Flo was born here in 2002 or 2003 and she slugged out last year.

Sorry to hear that she didn't do good this year either. What do you think caused the babies to not make it? Too bad that one Bullseye did make it... soooo pretty!!!!!

At least you got a ton of healthy babies this year!

Aubrey,
...I do think she laid prematurely because of all the slugs. Not sure what causes the slugs. I have done things many different ways over the years and had too many slugs many years. If it was too easy we would have to give babies away.

Sorry to hear that. Sometimes it just doesn't work out right but that doesn't always mean a bad breeder. My girl Boo slugged three times before giving me her first live baby. Along with that first live baby came 30 other siblings!!

Dave,
...I have had similar things with some of mine but also have some that have never produced a live baby. If I was not attached to them they would be finding new homes.
