I have a new to me 12 year old 4' female BP in her original cage. She seems happy enough but not sure how to get the temps up higher than current...I can get it to about 84degrees but not much higher. Am using a 100 watt infrared bulb with reflector on top of cage. Cage measurements are 42 L x 25 H x 25 D. It is wood framed with 5 sides of plexiglass and top of heavy gauge screen. Substrate is currently fake astro turf...can I use a UTH with this setup? Base is plexiglass...I know most of the products that I have looked at say only for glass but is that due to too hot? and with my astro turf is that an issue? Or will it in fact melt the plexiglass over time? Thanks for any ideas.
