First time breeding

SooperScoot Sep 21, 2008 08:46 AM

Hi, everyone. Ive had snake my whole life and have never breed and really want to start. My ultimate goal is to breed GTPs but they are definately not a beginner breeders choice(Not to mention I need a permit to own one). I was wondering what snake you guys would recommened for a first time breeder to learn the process. Thanks

Same answer that usually aplies to many of these type questions....

Keep and breed what YOU like. If what you really want to do is breed GTP's, then do that!! Read up, ask questions, LISTEN and come up with your own plan based on the info you get. Remeber though, some info you get will be conflicting. What works for one will not work for another. And just because breeder "X" has great success by doing ABC, dose not mean that doing ABC is exactly the right way to do it, just that their having great success!

One last point is select outstanding animals for breeders. Sounds simple but many go for the lowest cost animal they can find and then wonder why nobody wants to buy their so-so offspring.
