snakeeyes1618 Sep 21, 2008 07:09 PM

Anyone use them? Good? Bad? They are cheaper than other...is there another company that is better or cheaper but still good quality?

Thanks

Love my AP racks! They're easy to ship and assemble. More importantly, my snakes seem to love them, probably because of the increased humidity. I drill some small holes on the front and back of the tubs for increased ventilation and they still hold a lot of humidity. I've also got Freedom Breeder racks, and they are incredibly nice, but more expensive. Interestingly, I've noticed that certain snakes will show distinct preferences.

If you are not housing 20 ball pythons they have some good set up's (rack of four 32 quart tubs). They sell Helix thermometers and you have the choice of running the heat tape down the back of the cage or under the rear of the cage. I use the rear heat myself. I've got a pair of double het albino x pied in there, and an albino honduran milk, on one slot empty. All seem happy.

Any rack system without a screen top will carry high levels of humidity, I've drilled holes around the tops of my tubs and its worked great, snakes are happy and in a great environment, almost like a burrow in Ghana!

Hey everyone thanks for all of your advice....i amjust trying to find something that is in my price range that is of good quality

i live in FL so humidity is usually not a problem....so drilling the holes is going to be soemthing that i will have to do.

And making my own is just not somehting i want to do right now i have done enough cage building and if i were to do it right with the right materials it can be worht the cost

Thanks again

Disagree. A sheet of Melamine at home depot is 30 bucks. Now add the price of the tubs, than your heat tape, and helix (which in most cases you have to buy anyway).

I make my own racks now. Exceptionally cheaper if you have the equipment to do it. And this way, I get to pick the size tubs I want. I'm working on building a 90qt tub now for my sub-adult boas and some of my larger snakes.

I've got tons of AP racks and cages and can't say enough good things about them. Everything eats and breeds well. On top of that, their customer service is second to none. Try one out, you won't regret it.

AP racks are a great investment. Nobody makes a better quality rack or offers better customer service than AP. IMHO
I own 4 racks for hatchlings and adults and will be ordering more.
