Aurora dropped her litter yesterday

DanL Sep 22, 2008 05:38 PM

Hi everyone. I checked on Aurora at 5am yesterday and found that she must have just had them. I only had time to take a couple of quik pictures before leaving for work. Anyway I thought I would share some of the stats.
There are 17 healthy babies and there were 2 still born, one of those was deformed. I counted at least 12 slugs and don't know if any had been eaten. Smallest baby was 27 grams the rest were all between 31 and 33. There are only 5 females. Aurora shed twice, on May 15 and again on July 14. She last ate on April 1. The last picture was taken today. Thanks for looking, Dan

Good looking pile o' slimers. But ouch - 12.5 Oh well, ya gotta take what ya get>

Congrats!!!!!

Let me guess, your gestating temps were around 80?

Based on those shed dates, it was either:

05/15/2008 = pos + 129

or

07/14/2008 = pos + 69

No way would 69 be lonmg enough so had to be POS + 129

Thanks Dave,
I can't exactly say what the temps were other than it was any where from 80 to 84 depending on where I checked it. Aurora tends to push her hides around also, so it's hard to pinpoint an exact temp.
The small number of females might be disapointing if I were going to sell them on the internet but I think I will wholesale these out. In the last two years I sold several to pet stores who never asked about the sex and I sold them at a small show in the Chicago area where most people either wanted a male, because they didn't want it to get too big or they just picked one they liked, not caring what sex it was. ...Congratulations. That looks like a super litter.
