KNXV (Phoenix, Arizona) 22 September 08 Parents say Gilbert man tried to kill self with rattlesnake (Eric English)
Gilbert police say a man barricaded himself in a garage and tried to kill himself with a rattlesnake during a dispute with his parents.
Officers responding to a disorderly conduct call found 21-year-old Jacob Keller in his parents' garage with the reptile Sunday night.
Keller's parents told officers he punched a hole in the snake's cage and took the reptile in an attempt to kill himself.
Keller later fled the garage and ran from officers. A search of the area failed to locate Keller.
Arizona Game and Fish officers were called to locate the snake and remove it from the scene.
