Beardies in Water....?

Krisymof2 Sep 06, 2003 09:38 AM

Hi I'm new to beardies but I did alot of research before I got one, and got my first from the daytona expo, a beautiful male, will have to post pics soon, but I have a question about all the pics with the beardies in water on here. Should I be soaking my beardie in water, he has a water bowl avalible but I don't see him use it very much. Thanks in advance.

Some beardies love water, its their fun time and good exercise for them. Some give you dirty looks when bathed/soaked.

But IMO it is good to get them use to it, there are many times over their lives that soaking them may be vital. It serves many purposes, not only to hydrate them, some will only drink if submerged in water and drink DEEP! It keeps them clean and that helps keep bacteria down. Once they are use to being clean, we find they are more tidy in their enclosures.

Below is a picture of one of ours swimming that loves water, she would live in it daily if we let her, and below that is a link for Bathing babies and making it fun, same dragon, but when she was a baby.

Thanks for the advice I'll start to do this with Buzz on a regular basis since he is still young and can still adjust to it.
