Problems when breeding albino females?

_dennis_ Sep 23, 2008 01:08 PM

Hi,

I have a question about breeding female albino boas. I´ve heard that they are hard to get to produce and when they do, it´s mostly slugs. Anyone can confirm?

Of course I´ll be breeding VERY outcrossed animals.

Any pointers and tips are appreciated.

Thanks!

Although limited ... I have had great success breeding albinos.

Last year I bred a sunglow male to an albino female - she produced a large healthy litter. This year I repeated that pairing with good results once again. That same sunglow male also produced with an arabesque het albino female. And I also produced last year with a male albino to a het albino female.

Ok, thanks for the input. Because I hope to do a pastel albino x pastel albino paring in the future, to make the most red albinos.

Anyway good to hear that someone has a good experience.

Your going to pair a Pastel Dream Albino X a Pastel Dream Albino Boa? What year are these who produced them ?

No, not yet.. This project has just started in my facility here in Sweden, there´s a couple of years until I can do a actual pastel albino x pastel albino paring,
I just wanted to see how breeding albino females has been for other breeders.

Thanks,
Dennis
