(Since it's kinda boring in here lately)I am interested to know what your favorite sub species of mexicana is? And if it is a Thayeri do you like MSP, Leonis, Melanistic, 'Wild'-Classic Type, Orange, Splitband, Aberrant, Buckskin, Yellow, etc.....?

I think this will be fun.

I REALLY like Mexmex.....I think a combination of a dark phase, granite and Hypo-E would be awesome, but....

My favorite has to be a yellow leonis thayeri....I don't have one just yet, but I'm workin on it.....LOL

btw, here's some pics of some of mine

BTW, Thanks Mr. Garcia :D

Thanks Joe. That means a lot specially coming from a photographer like yourself. BTW, I saw that your familiar with the Olympus DSLRs. Any thought about the E520? I'm doing lots of research on what DSLR to get. Thanks in advance.

Jonel,
I don't have any personal experience with the 520, just the E1 and E300. I can say that I am in love with the picture quality from both of those cameras, and the optics that I own are among the best I've ever used, those are the DZ 50mm F2, the DZ 14-54mm, the 50-200mm, and the 1.4x Tele-converter.

I still use the E1, as outdated as it is, because it is so reliable and performs so well. When I finally do upgrade I'll go for the E3. My E1 has actually been totally submerged in water and didn't miss a beat - not on purpose either

I must have been brain dead. :>

Which camera did you use to take those pics? As always your pics are AWESOME.

I've been gone for a few weeks chasing the elusive cervus elaphus. I guess I missed alot in here.

Hi Chris

I'm still using our trusty Panasonic FZ7 for the pics. Still works great but I'm looking into getting a DSLR in the next few months or so. But I'm definitely keeping the Panasonic as a back-up. Talk to you later.

Thayeri for me, I love seeing everything that they have to offer, my collection does lean alittle more towards the classic side of things with leonis in heavy numbers compared to my MSP, I have cut down quite a bit this year, sold off most of my orange and a really nice MSP pair, had one freak passing (man i am still bummed out about that), so i am down in numbers, but not is genetics,

good idea for a poll John.
this one was the freak passing, i think it was just her time, i cant figure it out

STEVES_KIKI Sep 24, 2008 04:11 AM

i like thayeri- thanks to Ken casstevens.... its all his fault... he got me into cal kings a few years back and a year or 2 ago he got me loving Thayeri too... But my absolute favorite "color morph" is the grey ones... NOT greybands, but grey colored thayeri... i also have a love of the high orange leonis. and who doesn't love aberrants in the mix!?!?!

Here's my personal "all time favorite" thayeri.
Produced by Evan Stahl, Bought by David Weymouth and sold to me back in 2005.
He did not make it through the disastrous a/c incident in my snake room the Spring of 2006.....
This will never happen again in the new snake room.....
RIP 'Ole Yeller'

Hi John

It's still bums me out to think of what happened with him in that a/c incident. I'm (we're all) really sorry for you loss.

I will try to keep Ole Yeller's genetic legacy with his son Sharktooth as mush as I can. I specifically picked up this yellow Bodner female early this year to match him with in the future. I believe that they will be a good match with their similar yellow coloration and even down to some of the lateral speckling. Hopefully, we'll see the "Ole" man back as Ole yeller V2.0 with this pairing.

I really do see a huge resemblance between him and Evelyn, Evelyn just has more of her mothers ground color, but you can definitely see yellow in her scales

It wasn't as easy for me to pick thayeri since I REALLY like the variation of Mexmex and with the new Hypo-E and Granites I think it would be cool to mix and match Dark Phase, Splitbands, Granites, Hypo-Es and the such......

I love the high orange thayeri the best. But, I've never met a mexicanna that I would throw out of bed for eating soda crakers.

Things are a little different in here without all the posters that used to be here (Chris G., Mike K., Russ B. and others), but there are some new posters with their info and experience to share..And have the same addiction....LOL....That is what this forum is for....and I am glad it is still around.....I see many of the other subforums aren't doing very well and Mr. Jeff is wasting some space....LOL

Russ bates still comes in once in a while.... to me, it'll be odd not seeing him at the richmond reptile expo.... but i'm sure in the next few years he'll have some smoking ball pythons for sale... which will be cool b/c not many people have BP morphs around here...
sorry- had to put in my 2 cents...

I've seen Russ post a couple times....I've also seen Chris G. post a few times not too long ago......
It certainly isn't like it used to be....Not worse than it used to be....Just different...

Yea Russ can share ball python photo's all he wants too.
I personally just like the fact of looking at pictures and discussing differnt things with out having to change forums. Chris sometimes post some awesome wildlife shots and I know he has more to share.
Hell John you came back after a extended leave so maybe they all will....lol. I just don't want this forum to end, I love the fact it is like kicking back with old friends and new ones. I like the fact we can post whatever we want and always discuss more than mexicana. So keep posting. love all the polls and questions.
