She shed the other day and think it's her first shed in captivity. Sorta silver/blond color. Someone suggested she was anery and someone else suggested axanthic but she is something different for sure.

i believe axanthic means 'lack of yellow' so perhaps that's what she is? i had one similar to her once though much darker. i didn't care for mine's looks much & traded her away. your's is way more attractive though i still prefer a true yellow tail. btw, there's another an/ax i the classifieds right now......

Yes, this is this same snake in the ad except it shed now and looks much better.
Dan
Dan, that has turned into one NICE and VERY UNUSUAL Cribo. It looks a lot better now than when you got it. To think I had the chance to get it, almost did, And then let you bag it in front of me.lol...I really like the way thats turned out. I'm still not sure exactly what to call it but I've never seen anything like it ever.....TC
Yea, and while you were thinking it over, I had them running my debit card which by the way was over the limit on my funds available, but it was worth the 35 dollar overlimit fee.
Dan
She is certainly a cool looking beast Dan, whatever she is!
Nice Looking snake! I too think she would be considered axanthic. Its a wonder she made it to that size in the wild whats her 'tude like?
Nate
She bites and chews and when she has some skin and blood she is satisfied. I wear gloves up to my elbows when handling her as I have to save some skin and blood for the other snakes I keep.
Dan
LOL. are you by chance saving it for some of those sweet foriegn coluber you have? Hint...Hint...
Nate
as someone said a while back, maybe that's not even a yt. you may have something very special there. you may want to contact lloyd's of london. :>]
It came from Guyana and I am going to have DNA done on it for kicks.
Dan
She appears to be a YT.....without the yellow. You've got her in good shape.
I'm just currious is their DNA from other Yellow tails to compare it to? Roy and I were talking about the fact that if you throw a diffent paint job on any Drymarchon it would be very hard to tell them apart. Even then have we seen all the Drymarchon that could still be out there?
Nate
Yes, it should be different from other cribo DNA. I will submit sheds from different cribo subspecies to ensure they have something to compare it with.
Dan
Sorry, first that I didn't read the entire thread. But,....
Where, exactly did this animal come from? Is it even remotely possible that this could be caudomaculatus? Or margaretae? Seriously.Ive been pondering this for some time now. I'll look up the pic, and see, maybe post a link to it,...if I can find it.
here's a pic of caudo

I could not find any pics of margaretae. Not sure there are any. Perhaps this is something new? Maybe something in between. There is still much undiscovered about drymarchon. Good luck!
She was an import from Guyana and does not appear like those other species.
