WAYYYY to Quiet around here

PHEve Sep 25, 2008 10:17 AM

Hehehee, come on collared lovers,

I have been busy emptying my reptile room, it gets re-wired on Saturday, my own circuts, since I almost burned the house down 2 weeks ago from lights.

It's getting a paint job and new floor too, and I will be adding 2 more 40 gallon breeder/critter cages. On a roll,

MITE MADDNESS

Wow, Eve I wonder about all you don't tell us what's going on in the background. Well good to hear that the electrical issue's getting fixed and the lizards are getting a new room.

Nothing new on my end, I tried posting pictures and it won't work for some reason. I'll try again sometine soon, the collared's are doing great though Thelma and Clyde are sulking because Bugsy and Bonnie got a new custom cage. Ommarosa's doing good and still does her Godzilla impression when it comes to cricket time.

Most of the times things are HONKY DOREY Then every so often just like everyone else something arises, guess it keeps ya on your toes.

I just had too many lights on all day long on a hot day and the breaker failed ( because I tripped it so much and the spring went.) Anyway it got fried, thank God it stopped there and we lost power. Anyway hope everyone here is careful and is mindful of the power they use, lol.

Glad all your critters are good Sean, it's comforting when everything is healthy. Nice to hear the beardie is doing. well also.

As far as my 2 new 40 breeder tanks, nothing new going in them guys,,,, lol, just collareds that live here Some of the New Mexico Fancies were seperate until I knew they were fine.

Hope you get those pics working soon

You know what we have been up to here in SE Texas and it ain't been fun! I have coined a new phrase: post hurricane grocery shopping. LOL! The store shelves are slowly getting back to normal, but we have been dealing with bread, non perishable, produce dairy and gas shortages across the area, and now we are dealing with unimaginable traffic issues because there are still huge areas that have no power. I did manage to get greens for all of the salad eaters, but not all of their favs, and I FINALLY got two shipments of crix. I am amazed to say that 2/3 of the crix were still alive after being stuck in post hurricane UPS hell for over a week!

I have some new additions to the family: two adorable baby chucks that I posted in the chuck forum, and four new Arizona collareds, 3 white tank females and a wiry Sonoran male. One of the females seems very gravid, so we are hoping she gives us cute babies soon. I will get pics this weekend.

Eve, I am sorry about your electricity issue, but it sounds like a blessing in disguise. You get to remodel the lizard lounge! And, just what are you gonna put in those two extra vivs?

Eve, I'm jealous of your lizard room. And it has indeed been quiet here, but it's that time of year. Many of my snakes and my geckos are starting to slow down a lot. But my Collareds have been "Party Time". They've been eating crickets and grasshoppers like a toddler with potato chips! I've been placing styrofoam cups around to drip water and they are just havin a ball. I need to get some new pictures.

Spare tanks can be dangerous...leads to many things. I have one waiting and I've been changing my mind constantly about what I should put in it. I was thinking about some rock lizards.

Eve,
I'm been spending too much time n the field but now that things are slowing down, I should have time to get some pics of my captives and get them posted. I'm actually heading out now to look for herps to photo. It needs to cool down so I'll stay home.
