Is it normal for striped Anery's to look purple?

h0mersimps0n Sep 06, 2003 11:30 AM

I just bought a pair of striped anery's, and I know they're just hatchlings, but they sure do have a lot of purple tint to them. What is the liklihood that they are actually striped Lavanders?

Is it normal for striped anery's to be showing any kind of lav/purple at all?

thanks

odds of getting striped lavs 'accidentally': very, very low! there's only a handful of breeders I know of that have even produced them, if they're sold, they wouldn't be cheap. You'd have to have been really lucky and bought them from a guy who didn't know what he was doing.

My striped anery looks VERY purple, but I've been assured by the breeder that there is no chance that she is lavender. I've heard that stripes and motley make corns look hypo washing out the anery and making them look purplish. So unless both of us lucked out and got striped lavs when we thought they were anery, I think it's just the normal look. (Pretty though!)
