They HAD to kill them?

"What is man without the beasts?
If all the beasts were gone,
men would die from great loneliness of spirit.
For what happens to the beasts,
soon happens to men.
All things are connected."

You are correct,
Ignorance is the prevailing wind that gust through empty minds. More stupid acts. What a shame?

"keep smiling; it makes people wonder what you're up to!"
That's so ignorant. They say it like if they didn't kill them, they'd die themselves... those people probably had no knowledge of herps whatsoever... or any knowledge for that matter. People REALLY need to start being aware that ALL living things can feel.

I am certain they didn't have the equipment to keep the animals happy and healthy but they could have donated it to a zoo or something.
i wondered the same, why not just donate to a zoo. But then again, australia has these rules for a reason. Its an island country, and for that reason probably has one of the strictest customs in the world. They are just trying to protect their natural resources, any new animal that comes into the country could pose a threat to australias native species. The snake itself, may be of no harm, but some mites on it could have been. Yeah its a tough call, but without taking action like that, whats to stop people trying again?

I think they might say they killed the snakes but anyone that seen the pied would check it out and then see they are worth too much and keep them. I dont think they are dead but I may be wrong. Same story when english bulldog breeder was caught dealing drugs all english bulldogs were killed ...........then 3 months later vet had 12 english pups for sale ??????????? right
