Would it be okay if i fed my EBT 1 or 2 pinkies before hibernation to get his weight up? I know they're very energy dense.

Is it underweight?
Depends-are these turtle outside now and are the temps in your area already falling? They need plenty of time to digest pinkies and if you'll only have a days in the 70's and the nights are already going down to the 50's - I would not do it. Box turtle should be given lots of food in the summer so you are can beef them up for fall and hibernation. If the turtles are underweight they should not hibernate.
If they are housed indoors you can give them the pinkies but they must be kept inside and warm until you know the pinkies are well digested and the turtle's guts are cleared out. Tess

If you have an adult turtle, you might want to consider weighing it on a regular basis so that you have an idea of what a good pre-hibernation weight is for future reference.
I weigh the turtles here monthly, which gives me a very good picture of what a good weight range is for each of them. I've been doing this for several years now and it's been very helpful information to have on hand.
