Thanks again to all that have helped identify my snake. I have never owned a snake like this much less one that likes to puff up and hiss( exhale) to intimidate. Hell, i am just used to getting bit as I do from my young carpet but he is getting better at adjusting...slowly but surely. So, i am hoping the same thing will happen to my sonoran...that he will adjust and stop acting like something more menacing than he really is.
I guess the only question I have is this.
Because he is albino, and because like alot of other species that are albino their eyes are said to be really light sensitive do to the lack of dark pigmentation in the retina, thus making them aggressive in average light. Is he better kept in a low light environment? For our candy cane corn snake, being that it also lacks dark pigmentation in the eyes, we were instructed not to put a UV on it because snakes that are subjectes to UV having the same eyes are highly prone to developing cataracts.
So what are yalls opinions? Keep it low incandescent light? Formulate his diet with just the cal/d3?
Thanks ahead of time for all your help. I really appreciate it!!!!
OH! Just wanted to share visual joy by posting a pic of our candy cane corn.
