double albino annectans project

alstotton Sep 26, 2008 12:04 PM

For quite some time,in fact years I've been workin on various albino annectans projects.
I was always led to believe that Applegate albino x Hi-Red(Bhb) albino would produce all normal offspring, due to poss incompatabilty issues.

Anyhows that matter aside I went about things via a slightly different route!e.g Alb.Hi-red X Hypo (klumpers) and Alb.Hi-red x Snow (Applegate). These past mating created albino offspring that were phenotypically of the Hi-red(bhb)line,But of course genetically things were different.

This season I bred from two of these het offspring and hatched something totally New to my eyes!!
From the five, I hatched a single F albino was something unique for me and i've never seen or hatched one alike before.

Even partially hidden by siblings I'm sure you'll spot how it's 'odd one out'.
After speaking with Jason, seems this is something similar/along the lines of his 'Dyergate' but different!?!

As soon as It hatched I had a "WTF" moment!LOL and I'm still wandering about if i should come up with a name! Suggestions welcomed of course!

Thanks for lookin'

post slough pic.Note the extreme 'blushing' a trait associated with hi-red in maturity. There also seems to be a somewhat reduced pattern imo.

Again thanks for lookin'

Very nice looking snakes. Congrats on that unique one! Hope you produce some more like it next year. Will you be breeding it back to the sire or one of the sibs in the future?

take care,

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the feedback.

I will try to replicate this again next season using the same parents, my aim will be hatching a male of the same ilk.
This way I can breed them with each other in the future.

I may also breed two of the other siblings back to each other, there's a few possibilties/combos to explore iI guess.

Al,
Those are all beautiful and the unique one surely will be stunning with each shed. Can you post pics of the parents involved? I'd love to see them.

Hi Ken,

managed to grab some quick shots for you of the Female and the two males I used with her!
I have my suspicions which male sired those babies, but hey can't 100% sure.

HI Al

Beautiful snakes.

That Double Albino one, is simular to my Dyergate. The way the orange blotches are instead of lavender.

Very nice al

Thanks Randy

I'll certainly post some more pics as the snake grows/sloughs no probs.

For years I've strived for more and more Red in my hi-red line offspring and this seems to fit that criteria just lovely for me

Just read the mail from you Randy...Thanks I will mail you back with some deppei pics shortly.

Hi Al,
Great looking little girl. One question though. You said you bred a high red alb x a snow applegate? what is a snow applegate? I have never heard of a snow applegate.I was not aware that Bob ever had any anery blood in his albino line. Please clear this up for me.

Thanks
Shannon
