Striped Albino Burmese

shox Sep 26, 2008 12:44 PM

I have and albino burm that has a stripe all the way down its back with the normal pattern on its sides. It looks somewhat like the pattern of a tiger retic. Does anybody know what this morph is called? I can upload a picture later if needed.
Thank you

Here's a striped normal I bought from Tom Crutchfield earlier this year. It's a WC from Viet Nam. About a month later he got me a partial stripe, also from Viet Nam. They are a sexual pair, so I'm hoping to breed them in the future and try to prove the striping as genetic.

Wow. Thats a really nice snake. About how much do the striped normals go for? and about how much for the albinos? if anybody knows
thanks

I got the fully striped Burm for about $600 from Tom, and he gave me a bit of a deal on the second because I bought the first one from him.
Actually he told me that the first one came a decent sized shipment from Viet Nam, and there were three striped burms in the sack, but two died in transit. He believed they got crushed under the weight of other snakes, so I got the lone survivor. I was lucky in that I happened to be looking through Kingsnake.com about two minutes after he posted it and bought it right away. He told me later that he had a boat load of inquiries about him.
When the partially striped one came in, he was very cool and gave me first shot before he posted it for sale and I bought it right away, since it was female.
Both are a bit squirmier than most of the CB Burms I have, but they've never bitten or struck, and are getting mellower by the day. I can't wait to see if the pattern abnormality proves out.
I'm only cautiously optimistic because most breeders I've spoken to think striping is a result of poor incubation temps, and not genetics. On the other hand, other pattern anomalies have proven out, like labyrinth, granite and patternless, so....

Well since seeing this post about the Albino striped, and what Vinny has posted that I should post my striped girl.. I got this snake from a guy in Thousand Oaks, which I traded 4 kingsnakes *pair of blue eyed blondes and a pair of albino lavender for this one.

Very nice snake. I really like the blushing in the middle of her stripe. Like me, I bet you can't wait to see what she looks like as an adult. Good luck with her, she's a beauty.
