a good caresheet?

bluetail10 Sep 26, 2008 01:56 PM

Hi, I've kept monitors, geckos, turtles and dart frogs but never snakes and am very interested in getting a BRB. Could someone point me to some good caresheets? I read the one submitted to kingsnake by Jeff Clark but would like to read as much as possible. and what are some good methods for keeping the temp and humidity up since this seems so important? Ive been able to do this well with my monitor but the tank set up is totally different so any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your response. My question now is how do you keep them warm? My apt is usually in the low 70s. Will just a simple heat light over the outside of the enclosure be enough?

Belly heat with a properly insulated cage. Heat lamps tend to dry out enclosures.

With your apartment in the low 70s all the time a little BRB would be okay with no extra heat. Ideal situation would be for you to provide a small warm spot on the floor of the cage without raising the overall cage temperature too much. A small piece of flexwatt heat tape under the cage and controlled with a proportional thermostat or a dimmer turned down very low would do it perfectly.
