KILLER BEE

bblack Sep 26, 2008 10:37 PM

I was just interested in seeing pics of sub-adult to adult Killer Bees.
Seems the regular Bees and the Killers are close in looks except the Killers are lighter and cleaner. Just wondering when they are older if there is a huge difference in looks between the two.
Here is a pic of my only Ball (so far) a 2008 Female Killer Bee- What do you think of her?
Thanks,
Bill

Awesome!!!- Thanks Brad- she is doing great and a strong feeder. Glad to hear your son likes the Rainbows, that should be a great project for him.

bboa:

Very Beautiful killer bee!!

I'm planning on breeding my male bumble bee to a very nice 3000 gram bell pastel. I'm even more excited about the possibilty of producing killer bees now that I've seen your adult female.

Thanks to everyone for posting photos of their killers.

Brian

I don't have a killerbee, but I know you'll love what she spits out for you in a few years when she's bred. She looks great!!!

WOW!.. the Killer Bees develop alot nicer than I could have imagined, can't wait to get some size on this girl.
Not sure what the best Morph would be to breed her to though?

Killers will be my most anticipated target next season. I was looking at these pics earlier and thinking of what you then breed them to. In my opinion, crossing them with anything else is just not necessary. They can't get any beter. They would only be resources to distribute their ingredients into whatever the offspring may be, not a step up to something new. There is no "up" in which to go.

I was thinking about a Super Pastel X Killer Bee.
I am not the best when it comes to genetics but would that pairing make even Brighter Killer Bees?

I'd definitely assume they would.
