Type "B" boa???

dude21361 Sep 27, 2008 01:40 PM

I just purchased my first boa female. She is a type "B" boa. Any info on her or any tidbits that anyone has would be appreciated. She is very pretty and I am very happy with her. I will post pics after a few days of her acclimating. Thanks for your time, Manny

The only ones I can think of are the Jim Peter's lines. There is a type "A" and a type "B". The type "A" looks to me like a Colombian BCC, or at least a natural occuring BCC/BCI intergrade. The type "B" looks more like a BCI in body structure and is typically more red. Unless I mess it up, here are a couple of pictures of mine, one of each. First the "A", then the "B".

Type "B" boas are a line of boas started by Jim Peters. The boas from this line are usually very pink or red and very nice looking boas.I have a trio from him and Dennis Sargent and they are some of my favortie in my collection. Jim Peters has a website called onesnakemind.com that has more info on these snakes.I do not know if the website is still up or not but if you can get in touch with him he can tell all about them.
Here is an old pic of my trio.

Congrats on your new Boa.

Yeah she is very pink already. I am super happy with her. I was wondering if in the future I paired her up with an arabesque male, what would they produce? Thanks again for all your replies...

I produced some nice motleys with my male type B and next year hopefully I can put one of the male motleys I produced from this pairing to one of my female Type B boas which will give these offspring a double dose of the nice pink/red gene. So you should make some clean Arabs with your boa.

I agree you should expect to see cleaner more colorful Arabs in my opinion.
