heat in a vision cage

Hey i was wondering if any one knows if you can put a heat pad on the outside of a plastic vision cage. IM currently using a red bulb and it kills the humidy for my pastel. Does any one have any suggestions for heating a vision with out the use of a heat lamp? Thanks!
