WATER COBRAS FEEDING...PRETTY COOL

herpsltd Sep 27, 2008 07:35 PM

Although its easy to scent fuzzy mice with fish and feed them it's very cool to watch them hunt live fish. They attack their prey with ferocity and with larger fish sometimes roll over and over,,,Fun to watch....TC

Cool pics Tom. Plus, there's something to be said about adding some variety to certain species' diets that have broad prey capabilities. I love the scalation of the heads of those water cobras.

Isn't feeding goldfish to reptiles extremely dangerous. I think it causes vitamin B1 deficiency and death after a while.

If that's all you feed them you may be correct. However that is NOT all I feed them or even what I usually feed them. I did it in order to get decent pics to post and NO it won't hurt them.....TC

How can feeding an occasional prey item with the only potential damage being a vitamin deficiency be considered "extremely dangerous"?

It can't.
