Whats going on with Ivories?

toshamc Sep 29, 2008 10:52 AM

Up until this year we really didn't see a lot of people producing a lot of ivories - but this year seems to be the year. But what's up with all of the paradox ivories produced this year -- just coincidence due to the increase in the amount being produced or is there still more to be unlocked in that gene?

I am fairly sure that there have been NO PROVEN GENETIC PARADOX animals produced to date. They are random, unique, and very interesting. The Super Pastel Ivory and many of the Ivories that have been produced are just a few I would love to hatch out!!!

i think ivories will be the first--there are many seperate lines that have produced paradoxes when using ivory males bred to yellowbelly females--coincidence?--two different breeders not only both produced paradox ivories, but also produced animals with half normal colored heads? Seems like more than just random occurences. I bet the more breeding we see from Ivory males to yb females, the more paradox animals we will see. I think ivory males hold alot of breeding potential--my paradox was produced by breeding my graphite ivory to a NORMAL female.

TONS to be unlocked in that gene---graphites--ultras-pardox-so much more to be seen with ivories/yellowbellies--I dont think there is another gene out there that has so many mysteries to go along with it. Whats funny is when you look at an ultra ivory next to a pastel ivory next to a superstripe. They look like 3 different shades of the same snake. Althought it looks like the stripe think out in the triple codoms like the pastel and the ultra(althought not a proven triple codom-more than likely it is) Got love them.

Ben,

The Graphite is absolutely gorgeous and I don’t know if it’s just me but I think the colors in the Ultra resemble the color of a Banana, what is your opinion?

It's not just Ivories. Thier is some genetic basis to it. I've been saying this for years. More and more visual Paradox type animals, related normal, or visual morph decendents are being bred, so I don't understand why some can't put 2 and 2 together. I don't know of anyone who has tried to take it through 3 or 4 generations, but the result is their. Thier are also a few different types/mutations that we call "Paradox", all of which should be defined because one persons "Paradox" is anothers "Calico".
