Here's the order I use to feed hatchlings: First, feed them in a deli cup and leave overnight. Frozen thawed, live pinky, brain-cased pinky, and live lizard scented. I try each one at least three times before I move on to the next step. Also check temp., security, etc. I've always gotten new babies to feed using one of these items. Good luck! John Meltzer
I'd give the snake a little longer to settle in. Wait at least 5 days and try again. If that doesn't work, then follow what the other poster said, but give the snake a few days in between each one.
Agreed. No matter what the methodology, you need the let the snake settle into its new surroundings. Don't think that a snake is going to die because it hasn't eaten 3 days in, and don't be alarmed if it doesn't eat in another 3 days. And as a side note, I would get used to it...some hogs may go off feed for months(search the forum about hognose going off feed...you will get more posts than you could read in a day). Fortunately, they seem to hold weight fairly well and many can fast with little or no repurcussions. Andy
