Macklot's Pythons, and albino python question.

mancuso Sep 06, 2003 03:25 PM

Hey, Can you guys just post some pictures of your adult Macklots? I just want to see the variation in pattern/size. Also, does anyone know if there has ever been an albino carpet python produced? And furthermore, how come there are not more albinos of some of the other python species (ex. Macklots, Childrens, Womas, Angolan, etc..). Is there any other reason than the frequency with which they are being kept/bred?
Any help will be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
Nick

Well I don't keep Macks so can't help you there. There is an albino variegata (Northwest Carpet Python) in Australia. Some say it's not being bred for smuggling reasons. Others say it has been bred. I not sure. I know we will never see any here other than perhaps an Irian Jaya or morphs from Europe who I believe must be doing gene research (been coming up with some carzy shiznit). The reason you don't see more morphs in other snakes is that most bloodlines have been reproduced and for some species no new import are coming in. Now with balls and burms, it's just sheer numbers that have been imported and bred. I would imagine anything that is still importable ans some that are still have a chance eventually.
