Beardie going haywire

BDHomer Sep 06, 2003 03:30 PM

Helllooo,

My beardie is going nuts! Since early this morning he has been running all around his tank, ruffling all the paper towels, scratching the glass and jumping all over. And now his beard turned black!

Anyone have anyidea why he would be doing this?

is it a glass tank? Beardies sometimes get upset about seeing their reflection.

How old is this dragon? If you are definite it's a male most likely it has something to do with the temps in the cage. Reason I'm asking the age and definite sex is because I had a female show the same activity and she laid 11 infertile eggs the same night. Have the temps changed at all? New light or haven't been running the air conditioner this week? So many things can cause this behavior but most likely it has something to do with the cage, temps, etc., or something they are seeing in the room. Take him out for a bit and see if he stops this behavior.

Yes, I am 99.9% sure it's a male. He is about 6 months old and in a 55gallon glass tank.b 74 (thats my dragon typing) I took him out of his tank just now and he's walking around my keyboard. He seems okay right now that he's out and his black beard seems to be getting lighter.

He's being a naughty boy. His temps are fine, only thing that changed is his food. ( Crickets to pellets) I don't have AC, just a ceiling fan that is on throughout the day.

Odd, odd

heh, maybe he misses chasing crickets so decided to 'chase' his pellets instead.
