Hi everyone. First post on the forum. Just thought I would introduce myself. I always enjoy your posts and the info on this forum. Just received the new Suboc book as a gift and look forward to reading it.

Dusty, I figured you might respond. I grew up in El Paso and spent many summers in the Huecos and Franklins back in the eighties. I've kept many different snakes over the years but have never given up my subocs. I am enjoying the book, and glad that others like yourself have a passion for them.

P.S. I too was inspired by "The search for subocularis"

Thanks, Dan. Yeah, the force was strong with Kauffeld, eh?

Cheers!

Hey Dan,
Kauffeld's book & especially that chapter seem to have influenced a bunch of us sub-oc aficionados! The guy could sure tell the blessings of nature.

Welcome to the FORUM, Dan.
.
On the SUBOC book, I find it has one gaping flaw that disappoints me.
It seems I needed such a book 26 years ago when I got my first SUBOC. I would not have made as many catastrophic mistakes since then, had I had this book!
It's easy reading and combines info for three major target audiences who's concerns are usually addressed independently, based on the author's knowledge base:
· Hobbyist concerns.
· Field herping concerns.
· Herpetological (taxonomic, physiological, etc.) concerns.
