Not always lucky...

CaseyLazik Oct 01, 2008 12:32 AM

I just hatched 6 eggs from Honeybee to het Ghost pairing.
There are 5 male het Ghosts in the clutch. The single female het Ghost was dead in the egg, tangled in its umbilical cord. There were no Honeybees and no Spider het Ghosts. Goodnight.

What are you doing up this early? Has something upset the universe that I don't know about?

Casey,
I was referring to Jon replying this early.

Could be worst... Could have had 6 honeybees dead in the egg... Atleast what babies you did get for the most part made it full term and are healthy.. I could use a het ghost male. Goodluck on the next batch.

Yes, It could always be worse. I've had a lucky year for the most part.

These babies are from my Honeybee and another het Ghost female.
Much better results here.

Our last clutch for this season we bred a butter male and a bumble bee male to the same pastel female. She laid five eggs. One of the eggs went bad halfway through incubation. When the other four hatched we ended up with four normals. We did have really good luck with the rest of our clutches this year so I guess it all balances out.

Oh well, on to next season. Good luck to you all.
