New Kings

viborero Oct 01, 2008 03:50 PM

I went to the Tucson Herp Show this past weekend and I thought I was gonna pass out from all the Corn, Hondo, and BP morphs, but as I was walking by a guy's booth, I saw a small ray of light. Amidst all the designer snakes, the retics, burms, bearded dragons, and Boa Constrictors, were these precious little underrated snakes. And they were cheap!

I actually had hoped to find myself a pair of these and, lo and behold, there they were. No fancy pics here. Just some quick shots in their quarantine tubs.

Nice. Underrated kings in my opinion. I lost my old male last year and didn't produce any this season..
I bet I get another soon!

Congrats on your new babies. They sure are nice. Looking to get myself a pair of albinos or possibly an albino male and a het female. Hope to see some at Tinley next weekend. They are on my list of things to look for anyway.

Take care,
Jeff

Very nice. I love prairie kings. I found one about five years ago, here in La. Released it though, and haven't seen any but DOR's since. Oh well.

Wow, that amel is pretty showy! Nice pair.

btw, the SWCH link has a '9' appended to it - so it's broken.

Thanks...and thanks! I guess it helps to try out the link first!

Hey, did you see this post a ways down?

Thanks, took a look - not sure how long it takes them to clean up but that one year old might come out pretty nice. Still kicking myself for passing up the 2 year old in Anaheim...no pattern at all but for a little white speckling...and tame! If anyone out there has a really clean and at least somewhat tame subadult Black Rat I'd be really interested

Another totally underrated king, congrats Diego! I am always looking for these around my neck of the thornscrub, they are not abundant here at the bottom of their range.
