I found a male wild EBT and put it with my female, and mated almost immediately! Will she store it til next year? I do not hibernate her, is that a problem? They went at it for a while, i hope she lays eggs next spring!

It will likely not be a problem and yes, she will store the sperm for up to 4 years so no need to keep the wild male. If the female is kept inside all year-please consider making her a safe outdoor pen so she can lay her eggs in the ground and not in a tank or indoor pen. There are so many more problems and issues to deal with when dealing with gravid females in indoor setups. And please read my online book's breeding chapter at www.boxturtlesite.info/bred.html

Tess, is it possible that raiders female could become gravid now since indoors and lay eggs in a month or so? Would it be advisable for raider to set up an egg laying box filled with loose soil and a heat lamp over it just in case?

Jeff, it sure is possible, especially if you supply summer-like conditions. A nest box is featured in my book. It was made by Joe Heinen and I bet he'll help you make yours
