Hi Jobi,
As you mentioned in previous posts and replies, the export regulations concerning Indonesian monitors was going to be implemented in July 2008. It is now October and there are no changes in the regulations for monitors?
There are some restrictions made by the EU council concerning trade bans on a whole list of reptiles and there are some monitor species mentioned in the resolution. (Commission Regulation (EC) No 811/2008) BUT THIS ONLY CONCERNS EU NATIONS!
This law is not valid or applied in the United States!
The only monitor species listed in the law are;
Varanidae
Varanus bogerti | Wild | All | Papoea-Nieuw-Guinea | b |
Varanus dumerilii | Wild | All | Indonesië | b |
Varanus exanthematicus | Wild | All | Benin, Togo | b |
Varanus jobiensis (synonym V. karlschmidti) | Wild | All | Indonesië | b |
Varanus niloticus | Wild | All | Benin, Burundi, Mozambique, Togo | b |
Varanus ornatus | Wild | All | Togo | b |
Varanus prasinus beccarii | Wild | All | Indonesië | b |
Varanus salvadorii | Wild | All | Indonesië | b |
Varanus salvator | Wild | All | China, India, Singapore | b |
Varanus telenesetes | Wild | All | Papoea-Nieuw-Guinea | b |
Varanus teriae | Wild | All | Australië | b |
Varanus yemenensis | Wild | Alle | Alle | b |
As you can see ONLY V. dumerilii, V. jobiensis, V. p. beccari, V. salvadorii are the Indonesian species and only WILD taken animals are banned, farmbred is not.
V. salvator the trade is banned of all wild taken animals from CHINA, INDIA and SINGAPORE not Indonesia.
Please as I asked in other posts, can you give me the documentnumber of the proposal, resolution or law!?
