One girl -- three options

Morgans Boas Oct 02, 2008 04:12 PM

I could use some opinions here as to which male would be best suited for this '04 female. She was bought a couple years ago for a male that has passed due to a spinal tumor in 07.
She's a normal girl produced from a pair of Salmons.

This is her looking her best, early last year at roughly 5 ft. --

this is her now at over 6 ft and good weight --

Option 1 --
Salmon possible Jungle (I'm pretty sure that he's a Jungle) 19-20 months old. --

Option 2 --
Pastel, also produced from a pair of Hypos. Also 19-20 months old. --

Now I've never succesfully bred a male that was less than 2 1/2 yrs old - I don't know the tricks, lol. So I thought of putting both of them with her, and hoped for action from either one. But if that doesn't work --

Option 3 --

'05 Albino male, with some color. Parents were 00 Ronne het x 02 het from Griff@LA snakes -- Coral ? Pastel ? don't know.

This guy is proven, and for now, he's a back-up if the others don't go for me.

Opinions are welcome as to which male would be the preferred mate to breed to her. Thanks, David

There she is that fem of yours that so resembles original Monster fem.
I like option #2 or option #3 Albino seems like a great way to go as well.

David:

My choice would be the hypo possible jungle.

From the business side of things he would probably give you your best bang for your effort and at the same time produce several animals worth holding back.

That's my $.02

Those animals are insane! I probably would do the Pastel......I think they are underrated and also not enough "real" ones out there.....

Id go with that Hypo jungle (i think its a Jungle)

Pastel is nice but the female doesnt have a pastel look to her. So you would get some nice pastelish boas.

Albino- you will just get hets.

So i would do that hypo jungle for sure.

There are tons of albinos out there, tons of jungles, but there sure aren't many pastels like that out there!

I know if this were me, I have always gotten more for awesome pastels than I have for hypos/salmons, supers, albinos or jungles.

There are many ways to look at it. Depends what YOU want to do and what YOU want to see.

If YOU want to produce awesome albinos, then go for it. If YOU want to produce Jungles because you think they look great, or because they'll give you more 'breeding power' with your collection in the future, do it.

In my opinion, all the pastel like qualities that salmon sibling has coupled with that insane pastel male.... WOOOHOOO!!!

Not too much gets me weak in the knees anymore like thinking about what those two would make!

Just my spare change...

Either way, Enojy those beautiful animals you have! -Joe

I personally don't see jungle in the hypo, but the hypo gene definitely makes it harder to see the low expersion animals! The Pastel is wicked, and if your tired of the Coral/Pastel Albino Male I have some ladies that would definitely like to meet him!

That's a hard choice. She's a beautiful girl in her own right. You certainly have some beautiful boas that's for sure. I'd have to say go with #2. Don't ask me why. Just like 'em, I guess.
