I start hatchlings out on live hoppers for 1-3 meals then go to frozen thawed large or jumbo mice. They can feed on jumbo mice weekly/bi-weekly for 2-3 months then scaled up to small rats for another 3-6 months before med/large rats offered. Of course this is relative to eating frequency, rate of actual growth etc. I have yearlings still taking jumbo mice and animals at 6-8mtns of age taking large rats. Depends on how effective your husbandry and how efficient the animals process their food. Keepers must gauge each animal individually and not rely on a set recipe. The above is just a guideline.
