question about PE-1 temp gun

ashlandthunder Oct 04, 2008 08:38 AM

Ok, I bought one of these and there weren't really any instructions included with it as far as usage. I just now found some pictures on their website. I guess you have to take the temp at about 1" or less?? That is what the pics make it look like. I know if you move it back more than that the temperature drops quite a bit

I forget the exact #s...but as you move further away you're reading a larger area.

The instructions are located in the blister pack, between the front and back package labels, and also available on our site.

Temp Guns are really just point and shoot. Temp is read almost instantly, any surface temp. If you hold the button down, you will get continuous feedback, so you can watch the temp change, and how quickly it changes, as you move around the cage.

As for distance, the further you get away from your target, the larger area you will be temping out. If you want a very tight reading, then using it within a few inches is important.

I typically use the PE-1 within a few inches of my target. The PE-2 has a tighter reading cone, so you can use it from a further distance.

If you have more particular questions, feel free to give me a call, I am always happy to answer questions : )
