New pics of some nice MONSTERS

Jeff Schofield Oct 04, 2008 04:55 PM

I finally proved out the green/anery milk line with some nice color. This is the 2nd CB anery, it pretty much matches the one Carl B. hatched out last year. These start out a little purplish but as they grow the yellow actually comes in and turns the purple into green, hence the "green milk" I have found and posted and likely others as well. I think this gene might well be similar to the anery yellow rats that still show yellow on the underside. I dont know how to do multiple pics so here goes...

another comparison pic to a normal, the first pic was of the adults.

08s, normal with anery, notice the purple(more obvious in person)

07 babies, again notice the purple. The cleanliness of the bands is noticable as well.

I am looking for some intelligent opinions on why/how Eastern Milks change their color into adulthood and how genes affect it. I happen to think that the black, red and yellow producers are independant. Most normal babies have more RED, and as they age they turn Brown...
but what creates Brown?
My guess is RED and GREEN.
How do you get GREEN?
My guess is Purple(anery)and Yellow.
Now many would like to think that eliminating a single gene(RED)would leave a Purple/black and white snake as it does in some SSP. I think that the combinations of color in Easterns(and their intergrades)allude to a more complex combination of color and in genetic manipulation we have the opportunity to answer alot of questions such as ...which SSP came first and which are the "newest".
Now would you guys think subspeciation would go from simple to complex or complex to simple??

jeff you crack me up how many years you have been posting and STILL cant figure out how to post pics, come'on its not molecular science
as to the other dribble...
anerythristic is no red
axanthic is no yellow
melanin is black (including brown) hypo is reduced, A is absent.
i would love to see an anery eastern, monster or otherwise the green ones that i have seen are NOT anery imho rather just a color phase and not a reccesive morph,,,,,,,,,,,thomas davis

LOL, I hear you Thomas. All I see in the pics are red "X"s and normal eastern milks. Lets see the supposed morphs. Ken

forward me your email and I will send alot more obvious pics. Not sure why I can see my pics and others cant.

Thomas, baby eastern milks start out RED but as adults they "turn" BROWN, correct? What colors make BROWN?? Red + GREEN right? I am suggesting that what we see as BROWN has nothing to do with melanin but the combination of RED + GREEN. Anerythristic therefore would be GREEN. The fact that as babies they are the typical purplish color of every anery is obvious in person and sadly only in some pics(sorry).
Now there is an albino that we all hope will soon start a little change itself. My contention is that the yellow(xanthic gene)develops heavily as the snake ages so that the red and white albino will turn more orange(RED+YELLOW)as it ages. The additional YELLOW will be very interesting because when the dbl hets first produce SNOWS, they will start out very whitish but turn a nice yellow/green as they age. Unlike other milks, these incorporate all 3 colors into their 1 "color" band, with a black and white background. Otherwise why would RED turn BROWN??

thomas davis Oct 07, 2008 08:36 AM

dude anery is NO RED... even in babies.
purple?are you high???
brown is from red???...nevermind
show me a purple eastern! please!!!
as to the cool albino that was found last year we know amelanism is a reccesive morph trait in other snakes/lines it is UNKNOWN if that particular mutant is reccesive more than likely it is and behaves just like other amel lines but to make a snow you need a proven anery line which has not been founded in easterns to my knowledge. also anery being no red and axan being no yellow explains why snow hondos have yellow as anerys were used. now in corns there is aneryA and aneryB which depending on whats used the snows will develope either yellow or pink depending on which anery is used. im pullin for you and would love for anery easterns to be established sadly i dont see that in your monster line, you have said they are a small pop. i beleive the green ones just a color phase and not a reccesive, prove me wrong, please,,,,,,,,,,thomas davis

dude anery is NO RED... even in babies. --WHY ARE OTHER SSP ANERYTHRISTICS PURPLE WHEN HATCHED??

purple?are you high??? --NO, NOT HIGH, MAYBE A BAD PIC

brown is from red???--WHY DOES THE RED TURN BROWN?
...nevermind
show me a purple eastern! please!!! --PICS SENT

as to the cool albino that was found last year we know amelanism is a reccesive morph trait--THAT SNAKE IS ALOT LESS PROVEN THAN THESE!

in other snakes/lines it is UNKNOWN if that particular mutant is reccesive more than likely it is and behaves just like other amel lines but to make a snow you need a proven anery line which has not been founded in easterns to my knowledge. THATS WHAT I JUST DID!

also anery being no red and axan being no yellow explains why snow hondos have yellow as anerys were used. now in corns there is aneryA and aneryB which depending on whats used the snows will develope either yellow or pink depending on which anery is used. THE YELLOW IN THESE MILKS WILL ACT ALOT DIFFERENTLY THAN OTHER MILKS--MORE LIKE A CORN DUE TO ITS INCREASE WITH AGE

im pullin for you and would love for anery easterns to be established sadly i dont see that in your monster line, you have said they are a small pop. i beleive the green ones just a color phase and not a reccesive, prove me wrong, please--GETTING ALOT OF PRIVATE MESSAGE EMAILS TELLING ME TO KEEP FIGHTING AS THEY CAN SEE THIS,LOL. I DONT KNOW WHY YOU CANT/WONT.

Thomas, I am your man on the ground here. If you cant see the animals yourself I am describing them and the change they go through from hatchling to adulthood. What I am suggesting is much like the EXTREME HYPO HONDO line....the adults dont look like the "typical" anery we would expect to find knowing what we do of the anerythristic gene at work. I would easily compare them to the wc anery corns of Florida. I hope you can post some of those pics I sent you better than I can(I STILL dont know what I am doing wrong). For some reason some people can see the pics and some people cant. Sorry for the length, better pics on the way!

sorry jeff i dont see it, i do see nice clean easterns. how far have you taken these? seems like just a year or 2 ago you were advertising them for 2grand no less! now you say F2's? lets see the progression from the original starter animal the F1's and on. how did you make F2's F1 to F1 or F1 to parent or both? here are some of the pics you sent

I'd love to see some photos of these Jeff, (all I see is the dreaded red X's.)

Interesting thoughts. I was wondering myself what will happen to the red in the albino as it ages. Will it stay bright red, turn orange, or fade to brown? He has been growing better than I thought over the last year. I compared him to a hatchling that we found last weekend and couldn't believe the difference! The red has lightened up a little, but not much. I'll try to post a photo update in the next couple of days for those interested.
