Synchronized shedding schedule?

merlin7676 Oct 05, 2008 12:13 PM

Just wondering if anybody has more than one snake and they shed around the same time? I have a corn and a king next to each other and another king across from them and they always seems to shed around the same time.
Granted they do eat the same size mice and are fed the same days so I'm not sure if that would play a part..although they are't all the same age they are younger as well. One is a year and a 1/2 and the other 2 are about a year old.
Could pheramones play a part in that as well?

Almost all my snakes shed about the same time. except for my jungle carpet and my boa.

Most of the snakes I've had for a while seem to go into shed cycles within the same week. Once I had all 9 snakes shedding within a 5 day period but that was sort of like how all the planets line up from time to time.

I have a corn and a rat housed in adjacent cages and they, too, will usually shed within days of each other. Same feeding schedules as well, same temps and humidity. I'm not sure of it's the identical housing conditions, pheromons, witchcraft or what. Thought I would be surprised of those two snakes living separately in the wild would be that closely synchronized in their sheds. Go figure.

I'm pretty sure it's witchcraft. Grab a book on wicca and see if there's any spells on shed cycles. If we can introduce magic into the breeding process, imagine the possibilities. Like a sunglow corn that actually glows
