Hey Kin,
I have been away from the forum for a bit. Did you get a new camera? These pics are soooo much better than your old ones.

on this rare occasion I decided to behave. I have a domain name that could be used as anti peta or for peta. I was going to post a link and put up something in responce to your pics lol.

I'm NOT in peta, that is obvious. They do some good work, but far to extreme IMO.

But I may have been funny do see responces to a new ID with a ref to peta. Then i figured it would get to crazy.

Anywhoz, nice snakes. I wish i took pics of my stuff as a kid. ESPECIALLY feeding. I had a 7' 4" water monitor that ate rabbits. With 12ish adult monitors all in one room, feeding day was about 200 rats. Ahhhhhhhh to be 15 again lol

where i was born and raised (wrightsville beach, nc) there are TONS of peta people. i dunno if its because the college is right down the street or what... i am not a happy camper when it comes to Peta telling people what to do... they actually stand outside the petsmart with signs and dressed up as rabbits and stuff. they actually booed me once b/c i adopted a dog and it was a stray...

I may be wrong but,What I've about PETA is,they feel every animal should be free and they are known to release lots of non native critters anywhere in the name of freedom.Like I said,I could be mis-informed.Maybe they have a hand in the Fl. burmese python thingy??? Jeff

STEVES_KIKI Oct 05, 2008 08:59 PM

no, your right jeff.... they dont even believe in seeing eye dogs or "human helper dogs" police dogs are out of the question too! but seriously... if an animal can help a blind person, i'm all for it!!! maybe thats just me... but i cut my hair short when i can to help make wigs for the cancer kids (locks of love)

>>no, your right jeff.... they dont even believe in seeing eye I think it is funny that all those bog crap o pet shops spent thousands on that one big parrot cage. You know the one with the glass front. That use to hold macaws and larger birds. Since all stores must be uniformed they now house a very happy 1-2 cockateils or jenday conures. As they are the largest parrots peta approves. Thats just to much power. IMHO

I recently ordered a bunch of frozen quail just to try something different. Because it was new I had to take pics so they were really the only feeding pics I had handy.

I've found out that day old quail is perfect for yearling corns and week old quail is perfect for adult corns. The feeding response is....WOW!!...The corns hit the dead birds HARDER than what they normally hit a live mouse! I'm kind of hypothesizing in thinking that this is some kind of instinctual thing like " get the bird before it flies away".

I'm pretty happy with what I've seen so far from feeding some birds to my snakes and from now on they're probably going to get birds about every other or every third meal. I don't think that offering some variety in their diet would be a bad thing and the snakes go absolutely NUTS over the quail. You really have to see it to believe it.
