Small bumps on an albino african frog

danielle27 Sep 06, 2003 07:01 PM

Hi all,
my 4 year old african albino frog has developed these three small bumps on his right leg just above the knee. They seem to have gotten bigger since yesterday and I do not know the cause of it. He eats live feeder fish and frozen brine shrimp. Could he have gotten sick from the feeder fish? I just got them 2 days ago.
What medication can I give him? My vet doesn't know anything about frogs. Could I give him fish medication?

Thanks for your attention.

Danielle

Hi,

You could try treating the frog with anti-bacterial tropical fish treatment. But if the frog seems heaslthy, eats, swims and acts normally I wouldn't worry too much. Do you have a picture?

Thank you so much for answering me. I went to the pet store today at lunch and they sold me an anti-bacterial treatment for fresh and saltwater fish diseases. They were not sure that it would not harm him. It is called All Natural MelaFix (uses the antibacterial power of Melaleuca, the name for a variety of Tea Tree). Do you think it will harm him? I will try to post a picture of him. He is still eating, swimming and active.
Thanks! Danielle
