a couple of P ruthveni keepers...

daveb Oct 05, 2008 08:25 PM

not like I need any more pits ( wait -what am I saying... I need a lot more!!! lol) but here's a pair of Louisiana pines I decided to hold onto and see how they develop. Just popped the lids off of their hide boxes and took some snappies. One of these days I am going to have to get them stretched out for pictures, they both have screaming straw yellow tails...kind of matches their attitude. They're siblings from a '04 Vandeventer x zoo lineage female bred to an '05 Vandeventer x Ginter male. They hatched out in August, and were the biggest pain to get started. Well, its not like they were alterna or anything but every hatchling I have ever produced went bonkers over rat pinks, these wouldn't. So eventually mouse hoppers it was, and still is. Now they don't turn down a meal. I have a feeling these are going to be some big snakes.

The female is in the top picture, the male is the bottom picture.
Enjoy, I sure do!!!
Cheers,

daveb

hey Randy,
how's it going? these jani are a lot of fun. They lost the corn snake type shyness and have adopted the "attpittude" i have come to know and love. The male is almost completely orange at this point, it will be interesting to see if he holds it over time. They all eat like pigs. Can't wait until they are 6', yeeeha!
later,
daveb

Hey Dave. "Attpittude", I like that. That's fitting. lol
I held back a couple of those orange ones because I'm curious to see how they color up as they age also. My guess is they will be very orange as adults.
Nice ruthveni!
