My Rach (Gargoyle) is changing color. Now I know they go light and dark and many shades of grey in between - but he is going orange. He's always had small orange blotches, it is a pattern on a few Gargolyes (I wouldn't consider it normal - but it the blotches are always in the same spot for those that do have this neat pattern) - now, with nothing orange in his tank for him to even attempt to blend in with (I don't know if they can blend in with something outside of their normal white to black grey mode, shich is why I am asking)he is turning an all over body color.

normal:

orangish:

Orangish:

Keep in mind the longer I had him out to take pics, he began to stress and turn more into the normal grey pattern (orange began to fade out).

let me know if any of your gargoyles do this. I hope you can see te color I'm talking about - the color did begin to fade as I was taking pics.

Sorry i can't help you out at all but i believe there are people in the crested gecko forum that do have gargoyles and might know more Its the forum just under this one on the list hehehe, they have it listed by the proper name which i can't say for the life of me LOL.

Nice gecko by the way.....looks really cool and the changing colour thing is neat too. My crested will change from dark to light brown.

I've been there already. It is a very slow forum and no one has gotten back to me. I was hoping someone here would also breed Rachs (gargloyles in particular) and could answer my question. sigh - oh well, it was worth a try.
Yes, I had a pair of Cresties too. They would go from light pale pink to brick red. Very nice pair. But, this is different gargoyles are in the white-grey-black range with occationall orange blotch or orange stripe pattern, not the all over color. Guess I will have to keep wondering.
I appreciate the input.
Take care,
Laura
