Help with heating a plastic tub and more

I am looking to get my first corn snake...

I would like to house in a plastic tub

How would I heat the tub? Will a UTH burn the plastic?
Will the UTH on a tile then under the tub work?

Also (This may sound silly) can you put a tub underneath a bed?
(Due to family fear of snakes issue)

And how to I poke holes in the tub for air?
